We bought a new Stearns and Foster mattress because ours was over 10 years old. Just finishing knee surgery I really wasn't able to sleep in the bed for about 4 weeks. Sleeping in it now but we find it comfortable but wonder if we should have gotten the softer mattress.

Ordered this mattress online (medium firmness) and process was smooth and delivery was great. The mattress is very comfortable for me as I have bad hips and shoulders. However, the mattress had an oder when delivered which I believe may be from the memory foam. We had to air it out for 3 weeks before we could sleep on it. Did not expect this from an expensive matress.

We bought the mattress under the guarantee to return it if we did not like it. We asked for an exchange to the medium firm mattress We have been on the phone for weeks trying to get an exchange. We excepted that we would've to pay the shipping cost of $175. But now they are adding a $516 dollar additional charge on top because that they say it is an upgrade. But it is the same lux estate brand and the actually it is a downgrade from firm to soft. WHAT A RIP OFF. After research, there are warning about this company and people are recommended to file a complaint to your state attorney general. We now want to return everything and get out money back. They are refusing. We will start legal persecution including damages, and time spent resolving this issue. DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY, SAVE THE HARDSHIP AND PAIN!!!!!!

I bought this mattress and was not sure if I would like it. Oh my stars, I love it. The first night was different you know but after one night, it's so luxurious. I sleep so good. Comfy and just right. The only thing I don't love is that I feel hotter at night. My fan is good.

I'm extremely happy with this mattress. After a long day, I feel like I'm melting into the bed. It stays fairly cool, but we had to try different mattress covers that stayed cool as well. The medium firmness was perfect for us as it provides great support for my back, but doesn't provide pressure points. Before this mattress, I would wake up with pain in my shoulder. I haven't had shoulder pain in the morning with this mattress.

This is my 5th mattress in less than two years. Two mattresses ago, I bought one online that had great reviews. It did not work for me. I sent it back 60-days later. Then I decided that I needed to go to a store where I could test mattresses in person. I narrowed it down to two. I decided to go with the Tempurpedic. I slept on it for almost three months and it just never seemed to be supportive or comfortable. So I went back to the store four more times and once again narrowed down mattresses until I got to two finalists. Another Tempurpedic and the Sterns Reserve Pillow Top Firm. I stayed in the store for almost two hours and went back and forth between the two. Duing the last visit, it became clear that the mattress that checked off all of the boxes was the Stearns. I was delivered six days ago. It has even been broken in and I can tell that this was the mattress for me all along. It is firm, but not hard. It is actually soft feeling but exceptionally supportive. I find that this mattress allows me to sleep comfortably in any position...back, side or stomach. This is great as almost no other mattress gives me this option. I wake up feel relaxed from a great night sleep, which is not as easy being 71. When I was younger, I could sleep on a bed of nails and do well. As you get older, getting comfortable in bed becomes more challenging. This mattress is by far the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept in.

I have had Stearns and fosters but since 2000 I love the way they are made. They hold up well this past year. I thought I'd try a cheaper brand and needless to say after a few weeks I moved that bed to another room and purchase my Stearns and foster I went to check out the beds at the dealers and fell in love with the most expensive one, however, could not afford the most expensive one so I settled for the estate, soft pillow top, which was much better than the prior brand I had purchased. I am a die hard, Sterns and foster customer. I have even converted my sister and my niece to purchasing only Stearns and Foster.. ordering it online was really easy and the delivery was right on time. Everything you expect it would be in white glove Service thank you so much..

We have an upstairs bedroom and it always is a bit warm there, so this mattress is perfect for keeping us more comfortable. The mattress itself is amazing- feel like I'm in luxury hotel room. We highly recommend- have only had S&F mattresses over the past 30 years and we are always pleased.

Purchased mattress about 2 1/2 years ago. It is now beginning to sag about an inch causing back pain while sleeping, but not enough for a warranty claim. For this price point, not worth the money. Will not purchase this brand again. They do not back the product.

My husband and I are so pleased with our split king mattress set, I'm a side sleeper and he's a back sleeper and the medium firm mattress is perfect along with the adjustable base. We had previously owned a Queen Stearns and Foster which served us great. We were able to move my husband out of a medical bed earlier as part of his recovery because of this bed. We couldn't be happier, it was well worth the purchase!

I ordered the same thing just 1 year ago and this is NOT the same. They changed the pillow top to be way firmer than before. This WILL be heading back but that's even a problem as their customer service is abysmal. Email's go unanswered -- I'm at the point of challenging it on the Credit Card.

The mattress that was delivered to my house has greatly improved my sleeping habits because it is a solid cushion for my head, shoulders and back. I had trouble with my former mattress that lead th me having back spasms when I walked or exercised, but my new stearns and foster mattress has definitely helped my body skeleton greatly. I would recommend this mattress to everyone. It's a very good product.

I bought this mattress for my mom & dad as a gift, they absolutely LOVE it! My dad has sleep apnea, so he hast to sleep on his back and my mom has multiple medical problems, including an autoimmune disease that affects her muscle muscles, she is in constant pain. Both of my parents said the mattress is so comfortable that they are able to comfortably sleep through the night and their pain has lessened. They are thrilled with this mattress, and I am thrilled for my parents that the mattress has been so good for their health.

We purchased the Estate medium firm which we tested in the store. This is our third Sterns and Foster mattress but this new design is awful.
As soon as it arrived we called the store thinking, despite the label, they had sent us the firm in error as the bed was very hard. We were told it needed time for the top to release.
It's now been just over a year, it is still very hard and has developed deep body wells and I now have spinal back pain. We rotate this mattress monthly and even rotate a quarter turn sleeping on it cross-wise.
We have had an expert inspect it and the result is the wear is "normal" so there is nothing we can do.
We are looking for alternatives and will need to donate a near-brand-new mattress to find comfort. We are so disappointed.

We bought a CA KING Lux Estate direct from Stearns and Foster. It claims to be a CA King but is too short and leaves at lease 4 inch gap on one side of our bed! We never had this issue over the last three decades of using various brands in CA King size!

My wife and I purchased the Reserve Pillow Top Firm in King Size. Upon delivery we were very disappointed to find that the frame of the box spring was apparently intended for the runner on a child's rocking horse. It was so curved that the box spring would not lie flat on the bed frame. When lying on the floor it stood up several inches on end rather than lying flat. To pay almost $7,000.00 including delivery and old mattress removal and then find the mobile home quality in the box spring was extremely disappointing to say the least. Unfortunately, we refused the delivery and obtained a refund. We will no longer consider a Stearns & Foster product.........This is no reflection on the furniture store where the purchase was made, as they have no complete control over product quality that is received from the factory.......

This is my second Stearns & Foster bed and I absolutely love it. What surprises me most is that it is even better than the first one I owned.
I bought the Estate Pillow Top soft in king size and from the first night I noticed an improvement in my sleep. I used to suffer from hip ache, but not any more.
I wake up fewer times through the night and wake up feeling great, rather than tired.
The mattress was not cheap, but it is worth every penny, I love it!
What surprised me most is unlike my first Stearns & Foster, I didn't have to get used to this mattress, it exceeded my expectations immediately.
And to top off my delight with my mattress, Stearns & Foster customer services have reached out to me to check that I am happy with my purchase and to answer any questions that I may have.
Buying from Stearns & Foster means not only getting the mattress, it is getting everything that comes with it too. My money has been very well spent, and I love what I bought!!

This was a huge upgrade over my previous mattress-in-a-box. Support is great for back sleepers. It's firm, but still feels like sleeping on a pillow! The mattress is tall though, make sure you get deep-pocket fitted sheets.

We had another name brand mattress for a few years, but it just did not give us the support and comfort we were looking for. We found this Stearns & Foster after trying many mattresses. We have had it for about 40 nights now and we both sleep better and wake refreshed.
While the top is soft and plush to the touch, when we lay one it that soft layer turns to support the curves in your body while the underlying firmness of the mattress supports the whole body. Overall, we are very happy and would recommend this mattress to anyone.

I have been sleeping well for 65 years on Stearns and Foster mattresses, and this year, 2026, was a time for an upgrade.
The first mattress was purchased by my fiancé and me at Fair Mercantile in St. Louis, Missouri. We bought a canopy bed frame to accompany the mattress and box springs.
We were stylin', let me tell you!
After a few years it was time to purchase beds for children and Stearns and Foster was our choice.
In early 1990 we were ready to refresh our bedding.,we purchased, you guessed it, Stearns and Foster at Robb and Stuckey in Orlando, where we now lived.
We have been always, so happy with firm and supportive bedding.
Come to 2026, and I received the Consumer Report issue of mattress and bedding "picks".
I studied and shopped for almost two months for new bedding, and in the process came back to Stearns and Foster!
There are many more choices in bedding today than years ago, to be sure, but the endgame for me was/is the names Stearns and Foster, plus the association with Tempurpedic.
I ordered the Estate Pillow Top Firm Queen and the Ease frame.
In two months now, I can fall asleep in five minutes and sleep well all night!
No surprise there, as that's always the way sleeping on a Stearns and Foster mattress has been, since 1960!
The Ease frame was a new choice, and the fact that I have an acid reflux issue made the decision a wise one.
I am faring well with the adjustable head of bed.

This has easily been one of the highest ROI purchases I've made for my health. I highly recommend it for anyone dealing with pressure points, poor sleep, or chronic discomfort. You can find mattresses that are softer and you can find firmer but both in one mattress is extremely difficult to find.
- DO NOT BUY from a furniture store like I did at Ashley's furniture, ONLY BUY DIRECTLY FROM manufacture.
At 6k this is an expensive mattress no matter how you slice it, however I honestly had no idea the Reserve PT Firm mattress could make this much of a difference. I paired it with the adjustable base, which in hindsight I didn't really need since I haven't had to make a single adjustment - could have probably saved that money.
After only 6 days, the improvement had been incredible. I was fully expecting a 1–2 month break-in period, so the immediate results were a big surprise.
One unexpected (and awesome) change - I can now sleep comfortably in any position (side, back, or stomach) throughout the night. I had no idea sleeping in the same position all night was a thing. I used to wake up every 2–3 hours and constantly change positions due to discomfort.
- For context, my previous mattress was also over $4K only 4 years old, so I was wishing but I wasn't expecting this level of improvement - the difference has been night and day.
Highlights:
✔️ Sleeping through the night without waking up in pain
✔️ Hip pain completely gone (used to wake me up after 2–3 hours)
✔️ Shoulder pressure significantly reduced
✔️ Waking up fully rested - no more headaches
✔️ Able to comfortably sleep on my side all night
✔️ Noticeable improvement in muscle tightness (even long-standing thigh tension is easing)
✔️ Deeper, more restorative sleep overall
✔️ Immediate impact - no long break-in period needed
Final thought:
- If this lasts at least 5 years I would consider it a win and would buy again, yes even at 6k.
- Firmness level - I spent a lot of time overthinking between the Reserve PT Firm vs Soft, and even considered the Lux Estate Medium PT. For me, the Firm PT is perfect - supportive without being too firm. Anything softer would likely have reintroduced the "dip" issues I cant deal with.
- For reference, I'm 5'11" and 218 lbs, so support was critical - but I still needed pressure relief. This mattress delivers both.

My husband is 6'4" has back issues, we were visiting friends and slept over. He woke up the next day asking what kind of bed they had? Stearns and fosters is what they said. The next week we went and bought one. We bought this same mattress over 15yrs ago. Over the years moving we folded the mattress, which is a no no, but this girl stuck with us, the last two yrs, she needed to be gone, so we decided it was time. We ordered a brand new one and had to get the same one, because we know just how wonderful this mattress is. Worth every penny, and you will get your best sleep ever! Will never buy any other kind to sleep on.

I was told this product would be similar to the Cassatt ultra plush. It is not!! You melt and feel no pain with the ultra plush Cassatt. I believe this mattress doesn't have enough memory foam and I feel cheated. I would tell you not to fork out this much money when you can get more memory foam elsewhere for half the price.

Mattress is well worth the money. I had been sleeping on budget options for quite sometime before this purchase and noticed the difference immediately! The difference in quality and comfort is almost immeasurable; that is the level of improvement I have experienced from the budget, bed-in-a-box options in comparison. The only thing I would be weary about is my experience with Stearns and Foster customer service; saying the support was atrocious would be an understatement. My experience was so poor that I actually gave up on the "free foundation" President's Day offer when the originally shipped foundation did not fit up my stairs. After speaking to 3 different people, including their aptly named "triage specialist" I still could not get a definitive answer and/ or the matter resolved. My only advice would be measure twice to avoid having to return or deal with their customer service.

Compared to my first sterns and foster mattress this is a much lower quality.
I've tried to give it a few months to get used to it but if anything my disappointment grows.
It has very noticeable soft and firm areas..
It almost feels like I can feel the springs in a few spots.
I really regret buying it and wish I had my old sterns mattress back.

This is the 2nd Sterns and Foster mattress that I've owned and happy with the mattress. As one of the top of the line mattresses in the industry, it is a good quality product. As with my 1st mattress always buy the top of the line mattress in the Sterns and Foster line and do like the firmness of the mattress and sleep a lot better with a newer version of practically the same mattress previously purchased. It is not 100% but in the 90% customer satisfaction range. I do recommend this mattress to my family but have been told the firmness is too much for them which is a big plus for me and my spouse. As with all mattresses, over time there is wear and dips but I know all mattresses do this over time. I will continue to purchase this brand as long as it stays within my price range.
