My husband could not use our former mattress/foundation without physical assistance and a step-stool to get in and out of bed following spinal surgery. Also, because the former mattress was way too soft, he couldn't change position himself in bed without assistance. Changing over to the Estate Firm Tight Top mattress and a new foundation was the perfect answer to allow him to get in and out of bed and re-position himself in bed without any assistance. Anyone needing spinal surgery should evaluate their current bed products and make any necessary changes before surgery to avoid the discomfort that my husband experienced. Thank you Sterns and Foster, now my husband and I can actually get the necessary sleep for healing!

This is our second mattress within 4-6 weeks. Replacement mattress is doing the same thing as the original mattress. Same model. Same size. A long hump from top to bottom runs from head to toe of mattress and is sunken down where both sleepers lie. We have only slept on this mattress from July 19th to August 4th (today). Funny both mattresses are doing the same thing. You can even see it when the bed is made up. Take your hands and run from center of bed to outer side, and you can feel the camel hump. Should have stayed with Serta. Not good.

The first 4 months the mattress was good. Then about 6 months in my lower back hurts so bad I can barely walk. Not sure what I can do the mattress is 8 months old at this point but it was a 3k mattress. I regret this purchase , I wish I had went another direction. The first Sterns and foster I bout 10 years ago for another bed was amazing, this one not so much. It was bought for a split king, and one of the mattresses is an inch higher, the quality standard is off when 2 of the same mattresses are not even the same height. The one my wife lays on is a full inch taller than mine, it looks like maybe a layer is missing in my mattress.

I purchased this mattress in pillowtop firm because my previous Beautyrest was a plush firm and it lasted for 10 years until I started feeling the springs. I assumed since I had owned one of the older versions of Stearns and Foster 20 years ago (before the memory foam craze) and loved it, that I would try the firm pillowtop. What a mistake…I wake up throughout the night aching at all sorts of pressure points. It is like they forgot the top comfort layers and I'm sleeping on the springs. I think I am going to call them and see if they can exchange it for the medium firm version.

I have had this mattress for a few weeks . I didn't want a memory foam mattress. I wanted it to have springs, I thought that would give me a firmer mattress. It feels like my old mattress. I don't think they would sell me a refurbished mattress. I could have paid less and probably had a better mattress. I'm stuck with this for at least 10 years .

Mattress is lumpy and appears to have uneven filling which makes it hard to roll over. Slumber land who sold the bed uses a third party inspector for its warranty service. This inspector does not listen to our specific complaint and only reports what the company instructs. Hector the inspector admits he will only do what the store instructs. He is not interested in customer questions. Very disappointing. Slumber Land not interested in our concerns. The product is definitely defective.

We had been putting off getting a new mattress for quite a while, thinking it probably wouldn't make that much of a difference in our sleep quality.
Sterns and Foster was always our "dream mattress" of choice.
We finally stopped dreaming about it and purchased one, and wow are we happy with our new mattress!!
It's very comfortable and we sleep so much better. It really is one of the best purchases we've made!

We were clueless that Stearns and Foster's quality had undergone change since merging or being bought by Temperpedic. We and the generation prior to us have had Stearns and Foster mattresses for YEAR and YEARS. Well worth the investment.
HOWEVER, we bought a Studio Tight Top Medium 3 1/2 yrs ago and it has been HORRIBLE! An expert in our upscale furniture store, 3rd generation owned, recently told us Stearns and Foster has not made the durable 20 yr Latex mattress that last 25-30 yrs since becoming part of the the Temperpedic family in 2017.
NO WONDER we are so dissatisfied!!! They still have the high price points but don't be fooled. FOREWARNED IS FOREARMED. DON'T BUY THE STEARNS AND FOSTER PRODUCTS ANY MORE. Ours is leaving our house tomorrow for a local used furniture store. FINALLY!!! Should have done it 4-5 months after purchase. I've sent photos to exercise my warranty; but, no response after 4 tries across 2 months.

My whole life I've slept on an inner spring firm mattress and I love a firm mattress. As I've gotten older, I need to sleep more setting up than laying flat. I think you should be advised that the Well spring mattress does not accommodate the adjustable frame as well as a foam mattress. It doesn't want to bend if you have a significant angle, which is the purpose of the frame that moves. Keep your feet up in your head up your advised when they deliver it that you should return the mattress to a flat position every morning it doesn't do well saying in the adjusted state overtime. The springs are not designed to bend. The sheets that came with the set in the pillows were extremely nice, but when you adjust the bed because it's or rigid than a foam, the bending where the curve is a bit pressed it makes the bottom sheets wanna pop off you really need a bottom sheet with the elastic straps that go across the width underneath the mattress to keep them from punching up after a night or two. I'm also after only a couple months starting to define that the mattress holds indentations I rotated from one side of the other and a queen I sleep in the bed alone I even sleep in the middle sometimes, but the indentation is definitely there you expect that with a foam mattress but not with a firm coil mattress that's very disappointing. The white glove delivery was very good. I have to say overall I was expecting more for such an expensive mattress and frame.

The important part to know about bedding is the density of the foam system the denser the foam the longer the foam will last. You get that in this bed. While I don't like the idea that there is only one side of beds now (yes we get half the bed we used to get) I know I will have a continued soft feel with good back support, far longer then your typical mattress. I now have three different version of Stearns and foster one of each "type" firm, plush and now pillow top. At this time I prefer the pillow top but regardless of your comfort preference any version is a good purchase in the long run.
Remember you spend 1/4 to 1/3 of your life sleeping why not treat yourself?

We've only had this less than a week, but so far we love it. We were afraid that soft might be too soft, but it is not. It feels luxurious, plush, comfortable, but you don't sink into nothingness. The underneath springs and layers work perfectly to create a feeling of solid support, not an endless marshmallow. We feel it is a perfect combination of plush top and solid underneath. The finish is beautiful, there's obvious pride by the workers. We are both back and side sleepers, and feel the mattress is great for both positions. Very pleased. The only characteristic I would caution you to be aware of is that this mattress is heavy, that support and softness requires a lot of material that apparently weighs a lot.

The product is great, but the movers Stearns and Foster uses are very rough on the mattress. They dragged the mattress at times, and it came with an indent/sag in the middle as a result of their poor care. For the price, it was not a great experience.

The product at the retail store currently being showed is different then what is delivered. In the store five or six buttons across the top
of the mattress vs once received the amount of buttons increased to eleven. This caused the mattress to feel much more firm then

I had a foam pillow top before and while it felt comfortable laying down I ended up with back pain frequently. Problem solved! I was initially concerned about the firmness of the pillow top, thinking I may prefer the medium soft, but after a month of solid sleep I know I made the right decision.

Before buying this mattress I had a lux estate mattress that I LOVED. I sank down into it and couldn't wait to go to bed every night. Unfortunately I chose to leave it behind during a move and was excited to treat myself to what I was sure would be an even better mattress as I thought it was an upgrade from the Lux estate. Wow was I wrong. It isn't nearly as nice as my Lux Estate mattress was, not nearly as plush and I don't sink down even a little. It's actually worse because now I wake up every morning with my rib cage hurting. I am super upset about this and now constantly sleep deprived.

I absolutely loved my S&F Euro Plush that I bought in 2010. I couldn't wait to get into it every night after working long 12 hr shifts on my feet. It cradled all my curves, had a bit of bounce to it, and I slept cool in that bed. I would still be sleeping in and loving that bed if movers had not folded it and crushed all the springs! It was never the same. So I buy the top of the line new Reserve Pillowtop Soft and I could not wait to get it! It came...white glove delivery was amazing. I jumped in expecting that same amazing feel. So dissapointing! It has no bounce and feels like a hot brick underneath me. They have no business calling this a soft bed...it is not. It also has caused me bad neck pain for the past two weeks. I have changed pillows twice to try to get alligned. Had to return it unfortunately. Not sure why S&F went to mainstream memory foam design. Their spring beds were the best.

We've had our mattress for 5 yrs. The pillow top tufting causes me shoulder and hip pain. We have an indent about 3/4" which has caused both of us to wake up with back pain. I know it's the mattress because I don't usually have back pain unless I lift something heavy. When I was sick I slept in our extra bed and after a few nights my back pain was gone but came back once I went back to our bed. I'm not sure if the pillow top or the spring mattress is the problem. I wish the pillow top was replaceable but it isn't. Warranty isn't covered on this mattress unless there is an 1 1/2" indent which I will definitely have to replace way before that happens. Right now I'm putting folded sheets and blanket under my mattress cover at my back area until I can anff to by another mattress. After spending that much on a mattress I feel that it should last at least 10 years. Being that expensive I don't think I would buy it again.

Disappointed in workmanship. Had to return because defective. The next one is almost as bad. The pillow top doesn't seem to be even all the way around. Have visitors coming so could not return. I would never recommend this mattress to anyone. We purchased it in March 2025 and was told by Mattress Firm, "this mattress will last you 20 years, it may even be the last one you ever buy, this mattress will never get a dip in it from were you sleep". We paid over $2,000 for this mattress, by October of 2025 there was a dip in both sides. It is so heavy you need 2 - 3 people to help make the bed to lift it. At this point, I don't even sleep a whole night in the bed.
